Dr. Tang was raised in Union City, California, a suburb just east of San Francisco. He graduated with a bachelor of science in Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics from the University of California at Los Angeles and then worked in a research lab for two years. After receiving his medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, Dr. Tang completed his internship in general surgery and residency in urology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, where he also served as chief resident of urology. Dr. Tang then completed a fellowship in urologic oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida, where he received advanced training in complex robotic and open surgery. At Moffitt, his research focused on examining the impact of biomarkers and HPV infection in penile cancer as well as investigating quality of life outcomes after cystectomy.

Dr. Tang focuses on providing compassionate care while using an evidence-based approach to deliver the best possible outcome for every patient. Dr. Tang is a member of the American Urologic Association and a member of the Society of Urologic Oncologists.

Dr. Tang is a member of USMD, a large multi-specialty group of over 200 physicians across DFW.

In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, hiking, and exploring new restaurants in Dallas with his wife.
